This Philadelphia Lowback Settee was copied from an original from Independence Hall. As the accepted expert on Windsor chairs Douglas R. Dimes had unprecedented access to the very finest examples of each type of Windsor chair. Independence Hall has wonderful examples of styles of period Windsor chairs. The Pennsylvania blunt arrow turnings are main stylistic differences in Windsor chairs of the time. In our opinion this Lowback Settee is a Masterpiece, Perfect!
