Occasionally projects come up that were uniquely qualified for. The following are a couple of examples. They all took a deep understanding of furniture itself, the engineering capability to specify the project properly as well as having the facility and staff to handle a large project. I am very proud of them all.
In 2010 I signed a Historic agreement with the academy to become the exclusive maker of Harkness Tables in the world. We were honored to make and ship Harkness Tables to great institutions of learning around the country and the world. One of the more disappointed aspects of closing my big workshop was that I would no longer be working with the fantastic people at Phillips Exeter Academy.
The ground breaking Institute open on 2015. D.R.DIMES won the bid and was selected to reproduce all the furniture in the United States Senate in the fall of 2014. Senate Desks have only been made on mass twice. The first was Thomas Constantine of New York in 1815 after the British burned down the capitol during the war of 1812. The only other time was for the Institute in 2015 by D.D.DIMES. I could not have been more proud of my people who showed they were the best furniture makers in the country.
